Book Review-The Sapphire Talisman by Brenda Pandos

Julia is in possession of the talisman for protection. The coven was destroyed, so she and Nicholas have received a reprieve. They have had time to get to know one another better. However, Julia is afraid of the information she withheld from Nicholas. She knows it will blow up in her face eventually.
She talks him into taking her to LA when he goes. While there she meets Henry and sees Nicholas’ father. Their love for each other continues to grow deeper but Julia knows that Alora will be back. Plus the prophesy involving Julia weighs heavily on her mind.
When Alora returns a shocking secret is revealed. Nicholas is captured and his dark side released. Julia is torn between saving Nicholas and stopping Alora and her vampires. Her world comes crashing down.
This installment was even better than the first. Julia was better in this book. She reacted more maturely. I liked her character more. She was willing to fight for Nicholas. She appeared determined, refused to lose what she had.
The plot was full of heart break and dangerous situations. Then when secrets are revealed, everything the characters believed true is shattered into pieces. You feel Julia’s frustration and sadness. Her heartbreak is written in a sense that brings tears to your eyes. I give this installment a 4 out of 5. I eagerly await the next part.

The Sapphire Talisman Brenda Pandos 9780982903322 Books Reviews

I got the Emerald Talisman as a free download for my , and boy was that ever smart of to do!! Anyone who is into the vamp-romance stuff will love it enough to go and purchase the next two in the series immediately, which is exactly what I did!

Admittedly, as I started reading book one (The Emerald Talisman - if you haven't already gotten it, it's a must before reading this book), certain things seemed so juvenile to me and I wondered why the author had written certain things the way she had and was almost turned off, but then I had to remind myself that the book was centered around the life of a 16 year old and the story was being told through her eyes. Once I reminded myself of that, I was able to get into the book much faster than I realized, and soon, I was staying up almost all night long, just to finish it. As soon as I finished it, I immediately bought the second and third in the series, and read all three in less than a week. This one really caught me off guard. I haven't devoured a book this fast since the HP series! No, I'm not comparing it to them, but I was that engrossed in the characters! I was very happy that there was no cussing or sexual content, too.

I have to admit that I was so caught up in the characters that I was reminded of how it felt to be that in love, at such a young age. If you're a young adult, and you love or even like the Twilight series, this series is a great addition to your collection! If you're an adult and you love or even like the Twilight series (or vamp/romance novels without the sexual content), this series is a great addition to your collection! ) Word of advice....buy books two and three at the same time because once you're finished with one, you'll be very upset if you have to order the third book and have to wait on it. If you're sporting a , then it's instantaneous and it's not so bad. Seriously, when I finished book one on my lunch hour at work, I was online and downloading the next two that second.

Book 2 was even better than book 1. I think the author found her groove and was able to really develop the characters more. There were some surprising twists and turns that will leave you hanging if you don't have book 3 in your hand, ready to start reading it immediately.

Oh, and I also love how the author doesn't take 3 pages to describe a scene or a room, or someone's outfit, or the look on someone's face. I find myself glossing over pages like that and I get so irritated!! She doesn't do that in her books. Sometimes it's a paragraph or two, but not much more than that! I'm so grateful for that! This is an author I can see myself following and enjoying all of her books.
This was a 'couldn't put down story' ,just like the first book. With many series one or two books may be better then the others for different reasons; need to impart more information, or character development, or it's time to rock and roll. However, in this series by Brenda Pandos ,The Sapphire Talisman is as good as The Emerald Talisman due to the authors ability to develop her characters constantly and with continuity all the while keeping the plot twisting and turning when least expected. It is full of unseen shockers and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The characters emotions and dialogue are perfect for their ages and yet the imagination is so convincing you feel you're right there watching. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a well written paranormal book that's exciting and thrilling while almost convincing in its authenticity.
So I couldn't wait to read more about Julia and Nicholas and I got exactly then when I started reading this book. It picks up a few months after The Emerald Talisman left off with Julia and her family welcoming her aunt's new baby into the world. She has also decided to keep the occurences with Alora secret as her relationship with Nicholas solidifies, especially since their is hardly any vampire activity. He takes her to meet an old friend who makes his special slayer weapons and also becomes more open with his feelings for her. But once they return, they discover that they are no longer vampire free, Alora has returned, only this time Nicholas and her come head to head with Julia in between only to discover that Nicholas and Alora know eachother, making him and Julia's relationship complicated, especially when he discovered she kept Alora from him! Enter some characters from the first installment and we have an exciting sequel with twists and turns everywhere! I really wish I could share my fave parts but I am not one to provide spoilers so all I will say is that a change takes place in Nicholas as he is forced to deal with inner demons, and boy does Julia's life get turned around!!! This is a must read to anyone who has already picked up the first one and don't say I didn't warn you when I say that The Onxy Talisman could not come out fast enough!!!
